Honoring Fr. Tadeusz Bocianowski
The Polish Arts Club of Buffalo will honor Fr. Tadeusz Bocianowski at its annual Biesiada on Thurs., June 16. Fr. Bocianowski has been an active participant in the Buffalo community and Polonia since he arrived in 1991. He has the distinction of being the pastor of three Buffalo Catholic churches: St. Adalbert’s Basilica, St. John Kanty and St. Stanislaus.
Fr. Bocianowski was born in Brzezince, Poland. After completing his seminary work near Krakow, he was ordained in 1971 in the Czestochowa Cathedral. In 1985, he came to the United States and served in South Dakota.
Upon his arrival in Buffalo, he was assigned to Assumption Parish where he began his many activities with the Polish-American community. In addition to his pastoral duties, he is also the chaplain of the Polish Saturday School and the Polish American Congress. 2011 marks Fr. Bocianowski’s 40th anniversary as a priest.
