These are exciting and challenging times for the Polish Arts Club.  On June 1, 2016, we began a campaign to raise $200,000 to create a permanent endowment fund named for Aleksander and Valentine Janta.  The idea for the endowment fund was initiated by Mrs. Valentine Janta whose husband Aleksander was President of the Club from 1949 to 1951.  Mrs. Janta has specified that the proceeds of the endowment, once it is established, are to be used to stage or support theatrical productions and to present lectures by distinguished playwrights, authors and poets who are Polish, Polish emigres or Polish Americans.  This will enable the Club to expand our programming far beyond what we have been able to present in the past and will ensure the financial stability of the Club for many years into the future.

Earlier this year, Mrs. Janta provided a gift of $100,000 which brings us to one-half of our goal.  However, her gift was in the form of a challenge grant.  This means that we must raise an additional $100,000 within five years in order to keep that gift.  Therefore, the sooner we can raise the additional $100,000 the sooner we will be able to use the proceeds from investment of the endowment funds.

During the last several months, the Board of Directors has met with financial professionals, members of the arts community and leaders of the Polish American community and, as a result of those meetings, has developed a program to raise the needed funds.    Polish American cultural and civic organizations, banks, businesses and foundations will be approached with requests for donations but, since our mission is promote Polish history and culture to the larger Western New York area, donations will be gratefully accepted from all persons willing to help advance our mission.

You can help by making a one-time donation to the campaign or by making a pledge payable over a period of five (5) years.  Please utilize the link  Donation Form for your convenience..  You can follow the progress of the campaign in the Am-Pol Eagle.  The publisher and staff of the newspaper have generously offered to provide publicity for the campaign at no cost to the Club.

Thank you in advance for your commitment to the work of the Polish Arts Club of Buffalo.
