Julian Stanczak: Artist of Light

Presenter:  Thomas Zawadzki

Mr. Zawadzki will briefly discuss the life and work of the artist and will present video examples of Stanczak’s technique and works.  A highlight of the presentation will be a video of the artist himself describing his approach to his art and how he goes about creating each piece as a unique example of optical art.

The Polish Arts Club first heard about Julian Stanczak when the organization received the Skalny Award for Continuing Polish Education in Buffalo at the Polish Embassy in Washington on January 3rd 2014. Julian Stanczak was awarded “Creative Arts Award", from the Polish American Historical Association, Washington D.C. During his presentation we saw videos of how Julian made his paintings. At the Polish Embassy were present Tomasz Wdowik, Danuta Nycz-Nakamura, Rev. Matthew Nycz and Thomas Zawadzki.
Thomas Zawadzki will present the program to investigate his life beginning in Borownica, Poland in 1928 and his artwork with one of Julian’s original Artwork borrowed from Jack Edson of Hamburg. Also we will show photos of the presentations and interior of the Polish Embassy in Washington DC from the collection of Danuta & Tom.

Social Hour and Refreshments will follow the programs
