Professor Andrew Wise, chair of the History Department at Daemen College will lead an informal discussion. Professor Tomasz Pudlocki, a visiting fellow from Jagiellonian University and keynote speaker at the conference will also be speaking at the informal discussion. He will present a preview of the up coming workshop: Death of Empires: A Multidisciplinary Humanities Conference on World War I at Daemen College: September 18-19, 2015. The Nikifor art exhibit from Poland which is being shown at Daemen college will also be discussed.

Mary Lanham, the librarian for the Adam Mickiewicz Library and Dramatic Circle, will give a PowerPoint presentation on the history of her organization from its founding to the present day at the Polish Arts Club of Buffalo’s June meeting. The title of her program will be “The Adam Mickiewicz Library and Dramatic Circle: Its History and Resources”.
Eastman/Skalny Scholar to Discuss Political Context of Music in Post-WWII Poland
The Polish Arts Club of Buffalo will host Dr. Lisa Jakelski, Assistant Professor of Musicology at the Eastman School of Music, at its monthly meeting on Wed., May 20. The title of Dr. Jakelski’s talk will be “Building an Avant-Garde: The Warsaw Autumn Festival and New Polish Music”.

Poles in the American Civil War 1861-1865: A Broad Outline of an Issue

To kick off its 70thanniversary year, the Polish Arts Club of Buffalo will celebrate the wintry weather with a program highlighting the culture of the ski-country town of Zakopane.
The program will begin at 7 pm Wed., Jan. 21and it will be held at the Harlem Road Community Center, 4255 Harlem Rd., Snyder.
The annual general meeting of the club will be held at 7 pm on Wednesday, December 10 in our usual meeting place, the Harlem Road Community Center, 4255 Harlem Road, Amherst.
This is the most important general membership meeting of the year. All board members will give a report of their activities for the past year and all committee chairs will introduce the members of their committees. The treasurer will also give his report. I will talk about our accomplishments of the last year as well as current problems.

The Passenger: A Film about a World War II Concentration Camp; Presenter: PACB Member Tomasz Wdowik
In order to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the start of World War II in Poland, Tomasz will show an hour-long film about life in the concentration camp in Auschwitz.
Brief Program and Film Screening of the 'Parade of Victors"
"We have teamed up with the Polish Legacy Project-WWII to mark the 75th anniversary of the invasion of Poland by Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union, during our meeting on September 17. That same date in 1939, is when the Soviets invaded Poland following Germany's earlier invasion. A presentation to begin at 7:00 p.m., will include the screening of a film entitled Parade of Victors (Defilada Szwycięzców).
Adrienne Tworek-Gryta will be honored by the Polish Arts Club of Buffalo at its annual Biesiada June 12.
Tworek-Gryta is a lyric-coluratura soprano, whose voice has been described as having a “clean, bell-like tone, flexible and expressive” and has been in demand as a soloist throughout Western New York since the late '70's. She has been an Adjunct Professor in Voice at Villa Maria College since 1982 and has also taught at Villa Maria Institute and Daemen College. She has maintained an active voice studio as well.
